HWPL Peace Advocacy Committee in Delhi Begins the Work of Advocating the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War

Indian society responded to the peace message of Mr. Man Hee Lee. Leaders in the fields of law and education, as well as of women and youth groups in India stepped up to support the efforts of HWPL to ensure the cessation of war by international law. Comprised of these leaders, the Indian branch of the HWPL Peace Advocacy Committee was established. Its official launching ceremony was held in Delhi on 2 April, where the members pledged their determination to work for peace.
The Indian branch of the HWPL Peace Advocacy Committee is composed of the four following members: Mr. Nachiket Anil Dave, lawyer of the Supreme Court of India; Mr. Amit Kumar Singh, lawyer of Lex Delhi Legal Consultants; Ms. Praveen Roy, principal of Samsara the World Academy; and Ms. Bidyut Mohanty, head of Women's Studies Department at the Institute of Social Sciences. These members, who are leaders in different fields of society, will promote the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) in India and collect supporting signatures so that the Declaration can be acknowledged and adopted by the United Nations. Some of the activities will include promoting through media and social networking services, holding student debating competitions and essay contests on the theme of peace, and providing peace education. Through such activities, the branches of the HWPL Peace Advocacy Committee in India and other parts of the world will gather support for the campaign and collect supporting signatures, which will be submitted to the United Nations asking for the reinforcement of existing international law. About 40 guests from various organizations and fields who attended the launching ceremony in Delhi also signed their support for the DPCW.
At the beginning of all these actions was the DPCW, which was drafted by the HWPL International Law Peace Committee, comprised of 20 international law experts from 16 countries, including India, under the guidance of Chairman Man Hee Lee. Finally on 14 March, the DPCW was proclaimed in South Korea. “HWPL’s Declaration is a historical Declaration that will protect humanity,” Mr. Nachiket Anil Dave, a lawyer who attended the Proclamation Ceremony, said. He stressed that the Declaration is the solution to restore peace in the world, saying “The day of our long-awaited dream to be realized is drawing near with the efforts of HWPL Chairman Man Hee Lee.” Also, Mr. Mohd Umair Yunus, an HWPL youth representative from Amity School of Engineering, said at the Proclamation Ceremony, “I will use social media to promote the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War and gather a lot of support from the youth.” Ms. Praveen Roy, the principal of Samsara the World Academy, expressed her determination to work for peace and carry out a signing campaign to collect 10,000 supporting signatures.
They will promote the DPCW to the people of India and gather signatures of support so that the Declaration can quickly develop into a binding law that ensures global peace.
