The unknown soldier's pathway was built to honor unknown soldiers who fought in the Korean War at the United Nations Memorial Park in Daeyeon 4-dong, Nam-gu, Busan, to honor soldiers who died in the Korean War who were found but were not identified.

The path of the Unknown soldier is located on the way down south from the United Nations Memorial Tower in the green area of the United Nations Memorial Park at 779, Daeyeon 4-dong, Nam-gu, Busan.

There is a road to the south from the UN Forces Memorial Tower, and two 11-stage cascading waterways are spread out on the left and right sides of the road. Eleven fountains sprinkle water above the waterway, and 11 pine trees are lined up along the waterway.

This means 11 countries with remains buried in the UN Memorial Park. There are 22 fountains at the top of the waterway, 11 on the left and right, meaning 22 countries that participated in the Korean War.

A Place that Implies Sanctity

Daunt Waterway
in UN Memorial Cemetery in Korea

The waterway is named in honor of JP Daunt, an Australian soldier who tell at the age of 17 on 6 November 1951. He is the youngest fallen resting at the UNMCK.

A place that implies sanctity: Daunt Waterway

The aqueduct is named after Australian soldier J.P. Daunt, the youngest 17-year-old to be buried in a U.N. memorial park, which implies the sacredness of the boundary between life (green areas) and death (cemeteries). The waterway is 0.7 m wide and 110 m long, and many fish live in the clean water of the Daunt Waterway.
