On March 19th, 2016, Heavenly Culture, World Peace and Restoration of Light (HWPL) hosted the 

“Proclamation Ceremony of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War in Georgia” 

in the auditorium of the Georgian National Museum.

Tbilisi, Georgia – On March 19th, 2016, Heavenly Culture, World Peace and Restoration of Light (HWPL) hosted the “Proclamation Ceremony of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War in Georgia” in the auditorium of the Georgian National Museum. 

The event took after the “Proclamation Ceremony of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War” that took place in Seoul, Korea on March 14th. The Declaration was announced once again at the event where youth, women and leaders of each sector gathered to reaffirm their will to realize peace in Georgia.

HWPL established HWPL International Peace Committee in September last year to hold in-depth discussions for drafting a declaration that complements the existing international law that hardly prevents or resolves wars and conflicts. 

On March 14th this year the Declaration was publicly announced. It contains clauses about prohibition of use of force, reduction of military force, peaceful resolution of conflicts, freedom of religion and resolution of religious conflicts and dissemination of culture of peace.

There were leaders of each sectors such as Mr. Ucha Bakhtadze, head of International of relations of High council of Justice,, Mr. Lasha Chkhartishvili from Democracy Institute, Mr. Kakha Daushviliand from Association of Young Economists Georgia(AYEG), Mr. Zaur Khalilov from Civic Integration Foundation and the Archbishop Malkhaz Songulashvili from the Evangelical Baptist Church. Also over 30 women & youth groups including Association Vejini and Caucasus Youth Nexus gathered at the event in Tbilisi.

In the first part of the event, six sectors of HWPL – legal experts, religious leaders, social leaders, youth, women and media – were introduced and the Declaration was publicly announced. In the second part, Ms. Mariam Bolkvadze who visited Korea to participate in the proclamation ceremony as a reporter of MIR TV and a Publicity Ambassador of HWPL shared her experience of attending the event in Korea and emphasized the roles of women and youths as the wings of peace.

HWPL is an international peace organization that mobilizes leaders of countries around the world and women and youth who are at the center of the public. In September, 2014, HWPL hosted World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Summit with about two thousand world leaders in attendance and carried out ‘Signing of the Agreement for Implementation of International Law.’ It later launched HWPL International Law Peace Committee comprising international law experts. 

A year later, first draft of the International Law was announced and six months later on March 14, 2016, announced Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War. At the event, about a thousand guests from 58 countries (including ministers of law from Palestine and Lebanon) gathered.
