HWPL Monument Commemorates the Success of WARP Peace Summit

The HWPL Monument Commemorates
the Success of WARP Peace Summit

This monument commemorates the success of the World Alliance of Religions' Peace(WARP) Summit where solemn pledges
were made to enact an international law and achieve the unity of religions for the cessation of wars and world peace.

Design Description

The dove represents peace itself and the Peace Advocate. The way the dove embraces the earth symbolizes that through the Peace Advocate, wars on earth are put to an end and the world changes into a world of peace. The twelve gemstones that surround the earth symbolize the IWPG, IPYG, large ethnic groups, and various religions who have become one family with the Peace Advocate. The rainbow represents the heavenly culture, the spirit of HWPL and its avenue to achieve peace. The twenty-four stars inside the rainbow symbolize the members of the HWPL Peace Advisory Council and leaders of the world who have become one in the heavenly culture.

Front and back of the Monument

The world map located in front of the monument shows that the waves of peace begin from Korea and spread throughout the world, transforming it into a world of peace. On the back of the monument, the forever-shining sun, moon, and stars are inscribed on the sea which together symbolize the everlasting peace.
The monument specially commemorates the pledge of peace and the agreement that the attendees of the WARP Summit signed for “the Cessation of Wars and World Peace” in the sight of the Creator, all people of the world, and the Peace Advocate. The signatures of heads of state, chief justices, UN representatives, and religious leaders from around the world are inscribed on each plate. These signatures surrounding the earth represent the promise of peace and the power to achieve peace.

The peace walk lead into part three of the program where the World Peace Monument with the words of the World Peace Declaration engraved eternally on the stone will be unveiled.

The Secretary General of NICSA Reverend Thamsanqa Mvambo and the Acting CEO of Freedom Park Ms. Jane Mufamadi together with the Regional Director of HWPL South Africa unveiled the monument with one heart.

This is the second World Peace Monument on African soil which was unveiled after the first when Chairman Lee, on his 17th trip around the world, unveiled a monument during the Royal Bafokeng Peace Festival which took place on the 28 March 2015 where over 1,000 people participated.

Ms. Jane Mafumadi evaluated highly Mr. Lee’s work for world peace and said, “I think as people were saying today, he’s God-sent. Because for him to dedicate his life to visit the world ten times over, not getting tired, and saying and speaking the same message across–I think that is a very special–it takes a very special person to commit themselves for others than for himself.”

On May 25th 2015, 200,000 youth and women from all around the world participated in the 2nd Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace and Peace Walk Festival led by International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) and the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG), both HWPL’s affiliated organizations.
