The 1st commemoration of the success of the WARP Summit will make huge strides and bring a new wave of peace.

The World Alliance of Religions’ Peace Summit, the Greatest World Peace Festival

The 1st commemoration of the WARP Summit This year marks the 1st commemoration of the success of the WARP Summit.

While last year’s summit was a comprehensive peace conference with a variety of in-depth workshops covering all segments of society: people, history, policies, religions, culture, environment etc., this year’s summit will highlight HWPL’s grassroots experiences in peace-building and its proposal in the enactment of an international law for the cessation of war and world peace.

HWPL defines that the root causes of war is the absence of an international constitutional law that prohibits non-peaceful activities. Thus, through encouraging world leaders to sign the agreement of an international law for the cessation of war and drafting the proposal, HWPL hopes to strengthen social cohesion, solidarity, and peace in the world.

This is in line with the Declaration of World Peace, a milestone in the history of world peace.

The WARP Summit for Africa

To that end, for the WARP Summit 2015, HWPL will bring together experts, policymakers, diplomats, nongovernmental organization leaders, and religious leaders to draft an international law for the cessation of war and introduce practical peace activities and efforts made throughout the year such as Mindanao Peace Agreement and the African WARP Summit.

The 1st commemoration of the success of the WARP Summit will make huge strides and bring a new wave of peace.

On July 24th at 6pm, the Georgian youth united together at the University of Georgia, Tbilisi Georgia to host a Peace Debate event under the theme of ‘The pieces of peace come together to form a masterpiece’. International Peace Youth Group (IPYG), a youth organization of South Korea and the youths who had formed alliances with it like the Young Progressive Leaders of Georgia, League of Young Diplomats, Georgian Youth Development Association and Droni prepared for and partook in this event together this day.

The debate itself took the form of Karl Popper, a style that has become more prevalent in Georgia recently. Karl Popper style debate is where various teams carry out debates in the form of a tournament and eventually select a winning team. As for this occasion, the content of the two sessions of the day’s debate were 1) What is the rightful way of recovering a lost territory? Is it war or diplomacy? 2) If there is no one to go out and fight a war, there will be no war. In what ways can the youth express that we, the youth will not partake in wars and help the rest of the youths realize that we ourselves can bring an end to wars? respectively.

Youth participation in this issues is rather important, because new generation is a future of the country and increase of their participation which is very important in dealing the conflicts.” As an attendee of the event Akaki Jamburia said. “The peace has no alternative in Georgia, in the region and in the whole world. Quotes of Man Hee Lee HWPL Chairman

Quotes of
Man Hee Lee
HWPL Chairman

We only need to act by ending all wars on this earth and working for peace to make this possible.
It become impossible, because we do not act.
I think the initial step is for the former presidents and the supreme justices of each country to enact an international law with the cooperation of UN and then the current presidents would sign on the international law for the end of war and world peace.
The goal is for the those with religion and those without religion to become one and create a world with no wars.

"Wings"
by Cheon Sang-byeong (1930~1993)

I want wings

I want wings that will carry me wherever I want

I can't understand why God didn't give humans wings.

Being a pauper

the only trip I've ever had was our honeymoon

but I want to go any and everywhere.

Once I have wings I'll be satisfied.

God give me wings, please...

HWPL News: HWPL News: WARP Peace Office opens office in Nigeria

HWPL News: WARP Peace Office opens office in Nigeria

Interfaith dialogue through WARP Office meetings in Scriptures Dialogue in Nigeria

Hosted by Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace Office (WARP Office) held its first successful meeting on March 31, 2015 to discuss the need of interfaith dialogue in achieving world peace. Women, youths, and religious leaders representing various faiths such as Islam, Catholicism, Christianity, and a sect of an indigenous religion attended this event.

Full shot of attendants in Scriptures Dialogue
About 40 religious leaders, women, and youth participated in this interfaith dialogue which was held in the Lagos State University College of Medicine, Laos. Participants in this meeting discussed to seek for the commonality across religious scriptures in the hopes of defining true peace. In reply to the question, “As a religious leader, what is the definition of peace in your religion?” each religious representative presented his views on effective ways to build world peace. After the presentation, Rt. Rev’d J. Adedayo Ojaoba J, a bishop of Diocese of Lagos Island United African Methodist Church and one of the members of the audience, explained the significance of this meeting. “Comparing scriptures will go a long way in resolving religious crisis if it is taken seriously by leaders and subjects and if it is let known to the people how important peace is to their religion.” Instead of holding on to prejudices and indifference, the presenters and the audience shared an ambience of acceptance, a genuine curiosity toward one another’s perspectives, and the thirst for insight. Notably, Imam Abdullahi Shuaib, an executive director of Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation and also the guest speaker of the event, commented, “I can confirm to you that the conference was a huge success. All the participants willingly signed the peace agreement and strongly desired to meet regularly.” By signing the peace agreement, all the participants pledged to continue to work together to bring world peace.

Convening this World Alliance of Religions’ Peace Office meeting holds a special meaning for the country of Nigeria. For a long time, Nigeria has been constantly surrounded by imposed violence and religious conflicts. As noted in the names of many Nigerians such as “Olufemi,” which means “God loves me,” Nigerians have always been eager to search for answers in alleviating violence caused by religions. Interfaith dialogue through WARP Office meetings only marks the beginning of building peaceful coexistence on behalf of every Nigerian’s wish.

Interfaith dialogue through HWPL World Alliance of Religions’ Peace Office (HWPL WARP Offices) is not only limited to the country of Nigeria. Currently, many World Alliance of Religions’ Peace offices are being established and are actively operating around the world. The offices began as a continuation of the signing of the Peace Agreement by the religious leaders at the WARP Summit in September 2014 in South Korea. Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL and Chairwoman of the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) invited religious leaders from around the world to the WARP Summit. Out of all participants, about 1,000 religious leaders attended the Summit and signed the peace agreement. After returning to their home countries, these religious leaders have been making their best efforts to carry out the promise they had made at the summit by establishing and operating World Alliance of Religions’ Peace Offices in their respective countries with the help of HWPL officers.

HWPL not only hosts interfaith dialogues for religious leaders through the HWPL WARP Office meetings, but also campaigns to enact an international law for the cessation of wars. Chairman Man Hee Lee, a Korean war veteran, experienced the atrocities of war and witnessed the deaths of his fellow soldiers in the battlefields. Since then, he has been dedicating his entire life to bring world peace. His dedication resulted in HWPL’s unparalleled peace activities that are now regarded as effective solutions to world peace and cessation of wars.
