FQA) DPCW, Substantive Peace Laws & HWPL

Frequently Asked Question
Regarding DPCW of HWPL

DECLARATION OF PEACE AND CESSATION OF WAR
&
Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light

The Realization of Peace seen in the Peace Parade  🔺 918 WARP Summit 🔺

If it wasn't for the Coronavirus, I'd be very excited about preparing for the WARP Summit by now.
This year, COVID-19 has brought almost all peace to a standstill.
It's a pity.

So I prepared this FAQ regarding the DPCW of HWPL.

DPCW, Substantive Peace Laws that can Achieve Peace in the Global Community.
Please refer to the link below~^.^~ ⤋
http://hwpl.kr/en/initiative/lawForPeace

HWPL FAQ
Q. How is the DPCW different from the UN Charter or the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?

Answers to FAQ regarding DPCW of HWPL

A. While the DPCW is based on the mindset of the UN Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which agree on humanity’s common development and the creation and maintenance of a peaceful world as the entire globe’s purpose, the DPCW is different in a sense that it approaches the principles and participation for peace in a more active and developed form.

Articles 1 through 7 deal with the roles of a state in creating a peaceful environment in the international society, including prohibiting the use of force, reducing war potential, respecting international law, and developing friendly relations. Articles 8 to 10 emphasize freedom of religion, the participation of the citizens, and strengthening education and welfare; they propose that the creation of a world of peace is a task of this era for every person on this earth. The DPCW’s purpose is to create peace in a permanently sustainable form.

Q. What does HWPL do?

A. With its umbrella organization – the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) – and a cooperating organization, the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG), HWPL is working actively under the motto, "to make peace in the world and leave it as a legacy to the future generation." Leaders from all walks of life around the world, 199 advisors, 607 publicity ambassadors, and over 200,000 volunteers are working together in implementing global peace activities by transcending national boundaries, races, cultures, and religions. HWPL is also participating in spreading various cultures of peace in order to promote the implementation of UN SDGs.

HWPL's three main peace initiatives are as follows:

1) Legislate Peace project (LP project)is a global campaign to encourage the implementation of peace and to develop the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) as a legally binding document.

2) The World Alliance of Religions' Peace Office (WARP Office) is a place of practical harmony and communication in which various religious people come together to find solutions for peace through the comparison of religious scriptures.

3) HWPL Peace Education Project purposes to disseminate peace materials being produced on the basis of basic values of peace, such as dignity, loyalty, coexistence, and the sustainability of life, to HWPL Peace Academies and educational institutes around the world to provide peace education.

From the end of the coronavirus to the end of the war
A few days ago in Korea, I heard that many people participated in plasma donation.
I hope that the development of coronavirus treatments will accelerate, leading from the end of the coronavirus to the end of the war and that the era of peace will come to us soon.

"Why Religious Leaders Become One for Peace"
-HWPL Chairman, Man Hee Lee Quotes-

World Religions Discuss the Nature of Life through the Beginning of Man

On June 15th, with the theme of "About the Beginning of Man", "The 6th Inter-Continental World Alliance of Religions' Peace Office Meeting" was held to discuss religious teachings on human life written in scriptures through YouTube by religious representatives from Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Sikhism, and Zoroastrianism.

Examining the Nature of Man through the Beginning of Life

HWPL Chairman, Mr. Man Hee Lee said, regarding the importance of interfaith dialogue based on scriptures
Let's listen!

Regarding the importance of interfaith dialogue based on scriptures, chairman of HWPL Man Hee Lee says, Many conflicts bring the destruction of our globe. Wars and conflicts must come to an end in order to achieve peace, but wars break out more frequently because of religion. It is said that God had creation not to kill, so there should be zero conflict caused by religion. This is why religious leaders become one for peace."

"Despite different explanations on the beginning of man - either from creation or evolution, all the religions in this meeting had one thing in common.
Through scriptures, it s revealed that human life today is not complete with character, longevity, and death. And they say that the original quality of the man or previous being was understood as a better and complete entity. This also suggests that human 'restoration' to be better in quality is the goal given to people in today's world.

"The purpose of the human from of life is to understand our true self as spirit soul and not this material body. And our goal of life is to re-establish our relations with the Supreme Lord through the process of love and devotion and go back to Him in the spiritual world and never come back again to the material world which is the place of miseries and sufferings at every step," added Vinod.

About the meaning of the interfaith dialogue, "It reality is a family of people of different religious backgrounds, all aiming at the same goal of peace. It is through this bonding that earth can be a better place and human beings can emulate each other by being good persons. And that is how God works his way through us." said Dr. Meher Master Moos, President of Zoroastrian College in India.

Interfaith dialogues by HWPL WARP Offices through comparative studies on religious scriptures in 250 locations from 128 countries have been conducted to promote understanding and respect among religions and prevent conflicts.

Religious dialogue creates greater cohesion

Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) New Zealand branch hosted the 15th World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Office meeting on January 23, 2017.

For this dialogue, religious leaders from Islam, Mormon, Christian, Sikh faiths participated and discussed ‘Religions’ Role on Achieving Peace.’

Akshdeep Singh Gahir, Representative of Auckland Sikh Community emphasized the importance of this meeting,

“The HWPL Dialogues gives me the opportunity to open my mind even to learn my own religion and to look into other religions as well,” he said.

 Trustworthy Scripture

A five-question survey on methods of finding ‘Trustworthy Scripture’ was after the discussion.

Anna Featherstone (Mormon), Shafiq ur Rehman (Islam, Ahmadiyya) and Akshdeep Singh Gahir (Sikh). who participated in the dialogue agreed to actively engage in HWPL’s WARP Office by accepting the differences within the religions.

Ms Featherstone of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints said, “The format that HWPL does their dialogues really works and there is a lot more discussing to be done and I am really looking forward to that.”

 Monthly meetings

The WARP Office meetings are held every month in both Auckland and Wellington, New Zealand.

According to HWPL, religious leaders have tried to seek the concrete standards of trustworthy scripture in finding a true essence of religion and role of religious leaders in achieving peace and cessation of war comparing each religious scripture.

This approach of peace project by HWPL has its findings that religious conflicts account for over 80% of world conflicts, so ceasing this is crucial for peace.

HWPL’s WARP Office started off with the WARP Summit held in Seoul, September 18, 2014. HWPL has been operating it and religious leaders across the globe are engaging in this conversation to minimize religious conflicts and bring forth peace.

There are 204 WARP Offices in 112 countries (As of January, 2017).

A HWPL member said, “The religious leaders who participated in today’s dialogue will continue having discussion following up the directions about ‘Religions’ Role’ in peace building. Also, we will carry out them through the integral networks among religious people in New Zealand.”

WARP Office meetings are held globally to communicate and pursue peace with religions.

A Solution to World Peace

London Religious Leaders have a dialogue to find a solution

London Religious Leaders have a dialogue to find a solution to a peaceful world

Religious leaders of the Muslim, Sikh, Hare Krishna, Jain and Buddhist faiths gathered
in one room to discuss the commonalities within their scriptures
in order to spread one message – World Peace.

UK World Alliance Religions' Peace Office

On Wednesday 27th July, Heavenly Culture World Peace Restoration of Light (HWPL), an international organisation in association with the United Nations Department of Public Information, hosted the 11th UK World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Office in The London Spirituality Centre. The WARP Office is a series of Scripture Dialogues attended by religious leaders from various faiths who seek peace and a young adult audience who support peace.

The Scripture Dialogues are held every month and designed for religious texts to be compared and unified under the one that provides the most trustworthy testimony to prevent religious conflicts. Under the topic, The Inner Being, each religious leader gave a speech on questions “What is more important – Flesh or inner being?”, “Is there a concept of an inner being living and dying?”, and “What is the way for the inner being to live?”

As for the first question, all religious leaders said inner being is more important, while there were some differences regarding the other two questions.

Venerable Konwewe Ariyarathana said, “The Buddha taught a doctrine of no soul or no self. There is no part of a being which remains unchanged even for a split second. Change is going on constantly from moment to moment, so we cannot therefore talk about an inner being which has some kind of permanent or independent existence.”

Bhindu Madhava representing the Hare Krishna religion said, “Throughout the ages wise people have realised that we live in two worlds at the same time, a physical outer world and a deeper inner spiritual world. The problem is that we get so absorbed by the state of our physical outer world that we don’t spend enough time on the spiritual world within us. All religions message is the same, whichever religion you follow.”

After the event, Jain speaker Dr. Alhagi Drammeh said “There are differences but there are also similarities in religion and unfortunately people always focus on the differences rather than the similarities, within Islam, Christianity, Buddhism and all the other religions concerning ethics, compassion, forgiveness and doing good because I think all religion focus on the issues of morality and humanity and this has always motivated me since I was very young.”

In addition, Christian scholar Justin Brand said, “Every speaker here has said that taking care of the inner being is what is the most important – it is the same in Christianity. What unites us all is that every religion has had a founder who claimed to have discovered the absolute truth, that’s what unites us all, finding the absolute truth. The absolute truth has nothing to do with the external but has everything to do with the internal, the inner being, so after discussing with our Jain speaker Dr. Harshad, we came to the conclusion that we should start to look at our commonalities, every person has an inner being that is seeking to find the absolute truth and this is what I have discovered through attending these dialogues.”

In order to bring all conflicts to an end, the organiser HWPL is not only working on WARP Offices, but also “Legislate Peace” Campaign, an advocacy movement in support of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) being developed into an enforceable law. Through these two core peace projects of HWPL all over the world, those who love peace become united as one. Recently, 181 WARP Offices in 90 countries have been established and over 500,000 signatures have been gathered in 168 countries.

South Africa hosts Religious Dialogue amidst Terrorist Attack Warning

Dialogue of Scriptures World Alliance of Religions’ Peace Office  - Port Elizabeth, South Africa -

Port Elizabeth, South Africa – To go against the terrorist attacks happening globally during the month of Ramadan, a group of religious leaders gathered at the Church of the Latter Day Saints for a peace dialogue.

On June 9th, 2016 Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) hosted the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Office event with the purpose to bring harmony and seek common ground among all religions, through understanding creed of each religion.

The movement began as a continuation of the Alliance of Religions agreement signed at the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Summit on September 2014 in South Korea.

After returning to their home countries, over 700 religious leaders from across the globe who participated in the Summit have been actively carrying out the promise they made at the Summit by voluntarily establishing and hosting the WARP Office event in their communities with HWPL regional branches.

[HWPL WARP] Dialogue of Scriptures
PANEL SPEAKER: Giving a speech
For the community in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, the topic for the month was “Does your scripture record the work God has done on the Earth?” Speakers included kessavan Padayachy (Hindu representative), Nicky van Lavieren (Hare Krishna), Sinethemba Neku (Mormon), Placide Ebongue (Baha’i faith).

Q. How is your experience at the WARP Office thus far?

“I am always amazed when each of the religious leaders gives their talks on how similar the different religions are. I really enjoy it and today was exceptionally good. I believe that the word of God is love and peace, so if we study the scriptures of one another so if we study the scriptures of one another and find love and peace in each other’s scripture, then we would be making a very big contribution to world peace.”-Kessavan Padayachy (Hindu representative)

Q. What are your views on wars that are caused by religious conflicts?

“If we sit and learn together in scripture we will be able to understand each other and have world peace. A lot of wars start because of religion. Understanding each other as religious leaders is the solution to problem.”-Sinethemba Neku (Mormon representative)

“I think media has conditioned the observer. Religious people are not aggressive. Religion is there to develop your spiritual qualities. People use religions for their own benefit. We need to really see our spiritual call because we are all equal, we are all one.”- Nicky van Lavieren (Hare Krishna representative)

Up to date, HWPL has established 166 WARP Offices in 81 countries.

Since 80% of wars in the world are religiously motivated, it is safe to say that this movement is a practical way of achieving peace.

On March 2016, Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL presented the articles of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War which was created by worldly renowned international law experts who signify that peace is possible yet urgent. (Ref to http://peacelaw.org/)

The Declaration continues to develop as the most widely accepted and cited document to ensure international security and worldwide enjoyment of peace.

Some of the core elements include prohibition of: the threat or use of force; obtaining war potential and freedom of religion.

[HWPL WARP Office] Religious Leaders Find Common Ground in Scriptures

[HWPL WARP Office]
Religious Leaders Find Common Ground
in Scriptures Despite Differences

HWPL Hosts the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace, WARP Office
with the Topic of Animals

To the monthly gathering, 8 religious members from the Hindu, Jain, and Christian faiths used their religious texts as a background to talk about "Animals."

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK (TIP): To this monthly gathering, 8 religious members from the Hindu, Jain, and Christian faiths used their religious texts as a background to talk about “Animals.”

When asked about animals in the scriptures, one of the Hindu representative stated that, “In the scriptures there are two things, the body and the soul. The real thing is the soul, the body is temporary. Animals are not looked down upon but is worshipped if the god is with it.” The representative from the Jain faith quoted, “We don’t have animals in our scriptures. But we treat them as equal because we believe in karma.”

Another Hindu representative added, “There are many animals in our scriptures. But rather than worshipping the animal, we are showing respect. We do not worship the animal but we worship the divine god. There is a difference between worship, praise, and respect.” He further added, “There are also animals in our scriptures that are not real, like a seven headed snake.” The Christian representative explained that their scripture contains animals but is used to figuratively express the spiritual world. He mentioned that the Bible also contains a seven headed beast. The Hindu and Christian faith leaders both were able to find common grounds through their scriptures.

This supports the quote made by Mr. Yongmin Shin, U.S. East Coast Director, “In the WARP Office, each religious leader talks about a certain topic, not through their own opinion, but rather through their respective religious text.” He further added, Every religion emphasizes peace. Our goal is to emphasize the common ground, not differences, so that we can build a peaceful community.

In conjunction to the WARP Offices, current and former heads of state, chief justices and politicians are working diligently to create an international legal instrument for peace and the cessation of war that root from religious conflict. Last week on March 14, HWPL held its Proclamation Ceremony of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War and presented the ten articles of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War with the members of the HWPL International Law Peace Committee, chief justices of the Supreme Court, and ministers of justice from 16 nations in Seoul, South Korea.

Introduction of WARP, the World Alliance
 of religions' Peace Office Journal

HWPL WARP Office Jouranal ☞
http://hwpl.kr/journal/warp_office_2016_january_en.html
HWPL's World Alliance of Religions' Peace, WARP Office is a gathering where leaders from various faiths come together to seek the truth through an in-depth discussion on imperative topics comparing the answers found in each religious scripture.

As religious leaders freely carry out discussions and presentations on the basis of their respective scriptures, leaders, congregations, and communities can start to understand the will of the creator recorded in each Scripture and walk towards the truth.

Starting from the very first WARP Office, held on 31 October 2014, In Irvine, United States of American currently there are 107 WARP Offices in 59 countries actively uniting to practice the interfaith peace dialogue. As the current world is at unrest due to warlike activities and conflicts, the HWPL WARP Office provides a glimmer of hope to people wishing for peace.

The WARP Office Journal, which vividly conveys the scene of each dialogue sessions, is produced on a monthly basis to spread the news of peace to religious leaders all over the world. The objective of the WARP Office Journal is to introduce WARP Offices in all parts of the world, to share the answers attained through the religious scriptures comparison session, and to motivate others to participate. Until religions become one and peace is truly fulfilled, religious leaders will take on their roles and actively participate in the HWPL WARP Office meetings.

HWPL WARP Office, Turning to 2016

By HWPL, World Alliance of
Religions' Peace, WARP Office!
Turning to 2016

International Law on the Renunciation and
Cessation of War and International Armed Conflicts

Prior to looking forward to bringing about a peaceful world in 2016, let us take time to reflect on the core initiatives HWPL undertook in 2015 and think ahead to the core initiatives of 2016.

World Alliance of Religions' Peace, WARP Office

Year 2014 marked the starting point of opening WARP Office meetings. Considering the fact that 80% of all present conflicts are rooted in religious differences (religious misunderstandings) EARP Offices are one of HWPL's practical solutions for a peaceful world. Staring as pledges of unity among religions, these agreements spurred religious leaders to open 11 WARP Offices spread across 5 countries in 2014 alone. In 2015, the number quickly grew to 107 WARP Offices spread across 59 countries. The number of participation countries in 2015 grew by 1080% and the number of opened WARP Offices grew by 873% compared to those in 2014. Detailed discussions took place and yielded the outcomes of 'Scripture Dialogues' which are used to inform people about the fundamental aspects of different religions, religious practices, and to provide guidance for future discussions.
